The Presenters at the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards Are..

LOS ANGELES (January 23, 2013) — Alan Arkin, Jessica Chastain, Daniel Day-Lewis, Sally Field, John Goodman, Damian Lewis and Julianne Moore will be presenters at the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards®, Executive Producer Jeff Margolis announced today. They join a growing roster of actors who will honor their colleagues at the SAG Awards that already includes Ben Affleck, Alec Baldwin, Bradley Cooper, Jeff Daniels, Viola Davis, Robert De Niro, Neil Patrick Harris, Anne Hathaway, SAG-AFTRA Co-President Ken Howard, Hugh Jackman, Nicole Kidman, Jennifer Lawrence, Julianna Margulies, Busy Philipps, SAG-AFTRA Co-President Roberta Reardon, Carl Reiner, Liev Schreiber, Taye Diggs, Justin Timberlake, Kerry Washington, Naomi Watts and Sigourney Weaver. Oscar nominee Alan Arkin received his first SAG Award in 2007 as a member of the “Little Miss Sunshine” cast and was nominated for his supporting role in the film. He is currently nominated for his supporting role in “Argo” and as a member of the film’s cast. He’s got two comedies on tap: “Stand Up Guys,” opposite Al Pacino and Christopher Walken, and “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone,” opposite Steve Carell and Jim Carrey. Golden Globe recipient and Oscar nominee Jessica Chastain earned a SAG Award in 2012 along with her fellow cast members in “The Help” and was nominated in the supporting actress category, as well. This year, she is nominated for her lead performance in Kathryn Bigelow’s “Zero Dark Thirty.” She currently stars in the Guillermo Del Toro-produced “Mama” and will soon be seen in the double feature “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: His” and “The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby: Hers.” Oscar nominee Daniel Day-Lewis was a Screen Actors Guild Award recipient in 2003 for his work in “Gangs of New York” and in 2008 for his role in “There Will Be Blood.” In 2010, he was nominated along with the cast of “Nine.” He has received a total of five SAG Awards nominations, including two this year for his title role in Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln” and as a member of the film’s cast. Oscar nominee Sally Field is an eight-time SAG Awards nominee and the recipient of one Actor® statuette, for her role as Nora Walker in “Brothers & Sisters.” She’s nominated twice this year, for her performance as Mary Todd Lincoln in Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln” and as a member of the film’s cast. Carl Reiner and Alec Baldwin to Present the SAG 49th Life Achievement Award to Dick Van Dyke at 19th SAG Awards

LOS ANGELES (January 15, 2013) — Veteran writer, director, producer and actor Carl Reiner, along with seven-time SAG Award winner and 18-time nominee Alec Baldwin, will present the SAG 49th Life Achievement Award to Dick Van Dyke at the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, executive producer and director Jeff Margolis announced today.

SAG-AFTRA is honoring Van Dyke for his career achievement and humanitarian accomplishments. Past recipients of the Life Achievement Award include Mary Tyler Moore, Ernest Borgnine, Betty White, James Earl Jones, Charles Durning, Julie Andrews, Shirley Temple Black, James Garner, Karl Malden, Clint Eastwood, Edward Asner, Ossie Davis and Ruby Dee, Sidney Poitier, Kirk Douglas, Elizabeth Taylor, Angela Lansbury, Robert Redford and George Burns.

In 1961, Reiner and Van Dyke collaborated together on “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” which Reiner created, based on his experiences as a comedy writer, and in which he co-starred as the toupee-wearing producer, Alan Brady. The series, which broke new ground in television and is said to have ushered in the golden age of the situation comedy, would become one of the most famous and best loved sitcoms in television history. Adored by audiences and critics alike, the series earned four Outstanding Comedy Series Emmy® Awards during the show’s five-year run, seven Emmys and a nomination for Reiner, three Emmys for Van Dyke and two Emmys and a nomination for co-star Mary Tyler Moore (recipient of the 2012 Life Achievement Award). In 2004, Reiner executive produced and co-starred in “The Dick Van Dyke Show Revisited,” which CBS Television produced along with TV Land. Among Reiner’s many other notable credits: directing “The Jerk,” “All of Me” and “Oh, God!”; performing in “It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World,” “Dead Men Don’t Wear Plaid” and the “Ocean’s” movies opposite George Clooney and Matt Damon; and authoring such books as “Enter Laughing,” “All Kinds of Love” and “How Paul Robeson Saved My Life.”

Baldwin is the recipient of seven Screen Actors Guild Awards. This year, he is a two-time nominee for his role as Jack Donaghy on “30 Rock” and as a member of the cast. He began his career on the NBC soap opera “The Doctors” and later starred in “Knots Landing.” He has appeared in more than 40 films including “Beetlejuice,” “Working Girl,” “The Hunt for Red October,” “Glengarry Glen Ross,” “The Cooler,” for which he was Oscar nominated, and “It’s Complicated,” with Meryl Streep. Baldwin was most recently seen opposite Tom Cruise in “Rock of Ages” and heard as the voice of North in the animated feature “Rise of the Guardians.” Later this year, he’ll star in the Woody Allen comedy “Blue Jasmine” opposite Cate Blanchett. Baldwin is a dedicated supporter of numerous causes related to public policy and the arts. As the inaugural SAG Foundation ambassador, Baldwin is helping to raise awareness of the Foundation’s philanthropic programs and to encourage support and contributions from those within the industry as well as the general public.

The Emmy-winning Van Dyke made his television-acting debut in 1957 and Broadway debut in 1959. The following year his career soared when he was cast opposite Chita Rivera in the Broadway production of “Bye Bye Birdie.” His performance as Albert Peterson earned Van Dyke a Tony® Award and brought him to the attention of Reiner, who signed him for a pilot opposite newcomer Moore. In 1963, Van Dyke spent his series’ hiatus shooting the film version of “Bye Bye Birdie” in 1963 followed by “What a Way to Go” and Disney’s 1964 musical classic “Mary Poppins,” which won five Academy Awards®, including one for star Julie Andrews (recipient of the 2006 Life Achievement Award). Van Dyke earned a Golden Globe® nomination and, with Andrews, a Grammy®. A run of films followed including “Lt. Robin Crusoe, USN,” “Divorce American Style,” “Fitzwilly,” “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang” and “The Comic,” directed by Reiner, among others. He returned to movies again in 1979’s “The Runner Stumbles,” 1990’s “Dick Tracy” and more recently, the Ben Stiller comedy “Night at the Museum” (2006). On the small screen, his numerous roles include the crime-solving physician Dr. Mark Sloan in “Diagnosis: Murder,” which ran from 1993 to 2001. The ever-energetic Van Dyke has written several books and in 2000, formed Dick Van Dyke & the Vantastix, an a cappella quartet. Among the venues they’ve played are the Disney Concert Hall and Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C., with the President and First Lady in the front row.

For nearly 20 years Van Dyke has been committed to volunteering at Los Angeles’ century-old shelter, The Midnight Mission. He helped raise millions for their new building program and is there every Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and times in between offering comfort and cheer. He is passionate about raising funds for music and art programs for public schools and became a spokesperson for the National Reye’s Syndrome Foundation in 1967 after losing a granddaughter to that disease. In 2010, he was named the first spokesperson for the Cell Therapy Foundation.

Justin Timberlake to return to music after six years

Singer expected to unveil new single on Monday, his first solo material since 2006

On Monday morning, Justin Timberlake is coming back. A surprise countdown on the singer’s website promises that something – expected to be a new single – will be released at the beginning of next week.

According to Billboard and the Hollywood Reporter, Timberlake has recorded around 20 songs for his third solo album. “Someone asked me the other day, ‘So are you just done with music?'” the 31-year-old said in a new video, posted to his website on Thursday. “[But] I don’t wanna put anything out that I don’t love … You have to wait for it.”

“Look I’ve only done two albums in 10 years,” Timberlake explained. “I’m the one that sits and is obsessive about it before you even get to hear it.” Yet now, for the first time since 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds, “I’m ready,” Timberlake said. The clip finishes with the singer standing by a microphone, wearing a pair of headphones.

With Timberlake’s clock ticking down, his protege Justin Bieber weighed in: “u got a good reason to be ready,” Bieber tweeted. “i have heard some stuff … #greatmusic.”

Bieber also confirmed that Timberlake is collaborating with producer Timbaland. The engineer Carl Paul had previously tweeted that Timberlake was working with Timbaland, Beyoncé and Jay-Z. “Justin, Jay Z, Timberland (sic). New record Monday,” promised the New York DJCharlamagne Tha God.

In the six years since his last LP, Timberlake’s focus has been on acting. He was nominated for a Screen Actors Guild award for his role in The Social Network, and also starred in Friends with Benefits and In Time. Still, the former *N Sync star’s biggest triumphs are musical: both of his albums topped the charts in the UK, garnering three Brit awards and selling more than 20m copies worldwide.

Outstanding Creative Team to Collaborate on the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards

LOS ANGELES (Jan. 2, 2013) — Jeff Margolis, executive producer and director of the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, announced the team of talented producers and artists who will create this year’s ceremonies. “We look forward to the SAG Awards® as an opportunity for fresh collaboration with an outstanding group of creative colleagues,” said Margolis, whose Jeff Margolis Productions produces the awards telecast, presented by SAG-AFTRA, in association with Screen Actors Guild Awards, LLC. “We take great pride in designing a memorable evening for both the community of actors at the awards ceremony and for our audience at home which has grown consistently year after year.” Margolis has executive produced acting’s most glamorous evening since the 5th Annual SAG Awards and served as the telecast’s director since the 13th ceremony. Kathy Connell has produced the Screen Actors Guild Awards® since its inception. Connell is also SAG-AFTRA’s assistant national executive director of awards and national programming. The Awards Committee for Screen Actors Guild — Chair JoBeth Williams, Vice Chair Daryl Anderson, Committee members Scott Bakula, Shelley Fabares, Paul Napier and Woody Schultz — oversees all stages of the production. Supervising producers are Gloria Fujita O’Brien and Mick McCullough. Stewart Jr. will produce the film tribute saluting the accomplishments of SAG Life Achievement Award honoree Dick Van Dyke. Stewart is a veteran of 28 Oscar® telecasts, 13 Emmy shows and 20 Emmy nominations announcements. Paul Fagen will produce the SAG Awards’ In Memoriam homage.  Fagen produces content for live events specializing in tributes and award shows. With his company P. Fagen Productions, he also produces/directs trailers, industrials and documentaries. Quinn Monahan is producing the SAG Awards’ annual salute to union members. Monahan has created film packages for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences and the Costume Designers Guild Awards. Keith Greco will design the SAG Awards’ grand entrance and showroom décor. Among many recent entertainment and corporate projects, Greco Décor designed the premiere for Cirque du Soleil’s “Zarkana” debut in Las Vegas and spearheaded the construction of the world’s largest paper airplane for Red Bull. He also created the scenic components for the Los Angeles Haunted Hayride in Griffith Park, which drew 50,000 visitors. Maggie Barrett-Caulfield returns as the SAG Awards’ talent producer for the 12th year. Rosalind Jarrett Sepulveda, executive in charge of publicity, was the 2011 recipient of the ICG Publicists Bob Yeager Award for community service. She was previously honored with the Publicists Guild’s 1986 and 1991 Maxwell Weinberg Showmanship Awards. SAG Awards coordinating producer Jon Brockett began his career at SAG in 1996 at the New York office in production development and later served as interim co-director of SAG Indie. He joined the SAG Awards in 1998. Cynthia Kistler has served as the SAG Awards’ associate producer since 2002 — and previously was the Awards’ production manager, 1999-2001. She most recently was associate producer on the Creative Arts Emmy Awards, the 2012 “Do Something Awards” for VH1, the “NewNowNext Awards” for Logo, and the syndicated “A Hollywood Christmas Celebration at the Grove.” SAG Awards event supervisor Andrea Wyn Schall, a two-time Special Events Gala award nominee and author of “Budget Bash – Simply Fabulous Events on a Budget,” coordinates the Awards’ event design and logistics.  She and Greco create the Champagne Taittinger toast that opens the SAG Awards Red Carpet. Lucques Catering, under the direction of celebrated restaurateurs Suzanne Goin, a James Beard award-winning chef, and business partner Caroline Styne, will cater the SAG Awards for the fourth year in a row. Goin and Styne own three of Los Angeles’ hottest restaurants: Lucques, Tavern and A.O.C. They’re in the process of expanding their empire (which includes The Larder at Tavern and The Larder on Maple Drive), with The Larder at Burton Way, The Larder at Tavern at the Tom Bradley International Terminal, and a new restaurant concept in Montecito. They share the SAG Awards’ philosophy of “going green” in their choices of food purveyors and culinary practices, while offering the impeccable service that a televised awards show requires. Lucques’ menu will be complemented by Champagne Taittinger’s Brut La Française, which is also served in the Champagne Taittinger toast that opens the SAG Awards Red Carpet each year. Punctuating the dinner table design will be the classic Hollywood-inspired floral arrangements by Christopher Matsumoto of C.J. Matsumoto & Sons. C.J. Matsumoto & Sons was co-named Best Florist by Southern California Meetings and Events Magazine in their 2010 Best of Industry Awards. SAG Awards 2013: The Complete Nominees

SAG Awards have been one of the major awards events in Hollywood since 1995. Nominations for the awards come from 4200 randomly selected members of the union, with the full membership (120,000 as of 2007) available to vote for the winners. The awards have been televised for the past several years on TNT, but now also airs on TBS.

The inaugural SAG Awards aired live on February 25, 1995 from Stage 12, Universal Studios. The second SAG awards aired live from the Santa Monica Civic Auditorium, while subsequent awards have been held at the Shrine Exposition Center.  Bob Hope was given the first award.

Steven Spielberg‘s “Lincoln,” the musical epic “Les Miserables“ and the romantic comedy “Silver Linings Playbook” dominated the 2013 Screen Actors Guild Award nominations with four nominations apiece. Also honored with ensemble nominations were the casts from “Argo” and “The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.”
The 19th Screen Actors Guild Awards presentation is to be carried live on TNT and TBS on Jan. 27 from the Shrine Auditorium & Exposition Center in Los Angeles. As previously announced, Dick Van Dyke is set to receive the guild’s lifetime achievement award.
