Korean Pop Superstar ‘PSY’ has already achieved quite a lot with his video for ‘Gangnam style’, and now he can add a Guinness World Record to that list.

‘Gangnam Style’, which has only been available to view since the 15th of July, has been ‘liked’ in excess of 2,141,758 times, making it the most liked video in YouTube history.

The closest competitors for most liked video on YouTube include LMFAO‘s ‘Party Rock Anthem‘ (1,574,963 likes), Justin’s Bieber’s ‘Baby’ (1,327,147 likes) and Adele’sRolling in the Deep‘ (1,245,641 likes).

PSY (real name: Park Jae-Sang) is a South Korean singer, songwriter, and rapper. ‘Gangnam Style’, his most successful single to date, is the most viewed K-Pop video on YouTube.

This also marks the first time a South Korean artist has topped the iTunes charts.

Dan Barrett, Guinness World Records Community Manager, comments, ‘Having been the “Have you seen this?!” video of the last two months across the web, it’s great to be able to award a record for this tremendously popular video. In years past it was unthinkable that something  would be viewed a hundred million times, and now “Gangnam Style” has achieved more than twice this figure in just 3 months on YouTube.’

Call it the Super Bowl bump?

Billboard has announced the list of the 2012′s top-grossing tours, and it looks like Madonna is at the top. Her Madgesty sold out all 72 of the shows she played this year, grossing a grand total of $228,406,085 over the year. Interestingly, her new album  MDNA only landed at No. 44 on the year-end Billboard 200 chart, moving 521,000 units in the U.S. as of December.

After Madonna on the top-grossing tours list is Bruce Springsteen, whose raked in just shy $200 million this year with his Wrecking Ball tour. (He did, however, beat Madonna in overall attendance by about 500,000 people. Like Madonna, he also played 72 shows.) Roger Waters came in third with roughly $186 million (and nearly 50,000 more in attendance than Madge). Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour by Cirque Du Soleil came in fourth place with about $147 million for the year, which just edged No. 5 Coldplay by roughly $100,000.

The rest of the list included the likes of Lady Gaga (No. 6), Jay-Z & Kanye West (No. 9), and Justin Bieber (No. 20), who somehow got beat out by fellow Canadians Nickelback (No. 17). Head over to Billboard to see where all 25 of the artists fall on the list.

Death leads to warning against vigorous dancing for middle-aged men

Middle-aged men have been warned not to attempt the ‘Gangnam Style’ dance too vigorously after a father of three collapsed and died while copying the moves from the hit video.

Eamonn Kilbride, 46, collapsed with chest pains at his office party in Blackburn last weekend. He had been performing the dance moves made famous by South Korean rapper Psy, who mimics riding a horse.

Professor Bernard Keavney, a consultant cardiologist at Newcastle University, told The Daily Telegraph that older men should not “stray outside your comfort zone” at Christmas parties this year. “The chance that you’ll come to grief is very small. But as with any form of untypical exercise… be somewhat measured. Let the lady dance around you,” he added.
Mr Kilbride, an IT manager, had been with his wife, Julie, who was celebrating her birthday. She paid tribute to her “loving husband” of 23 years, calling him “the life of the party”. He had three children – Laurajade, 22, Jack, 21, and Conor, 18 – all of whom are at university.

Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style’ recently became the most-watched video ever on YouTube. The K-Pop star‘s hit has racked up a record-breaking 815million views since it was posted on July 15, 2012. Justin Bieber‘s track ‘Baby’, posted in February 2010, has 803million views. Psy, whose real name is Park Jae-Sang, has had worldwide success with ‘Gangnam Style’ and has sold more than four million copies around the globe. He also bagged the first UK Number One by a Korean artist. ‘Gangnam Style’ attracts around 11million viewers a day.
