NEW SOUNDGARDEN VIDEO DIRECTED BY DAVE GROHL

_davegrohl

Dave Grohl has been a busy guy. Not only has he been putting the finishing touches to his documentary on Sound City Studios, but he has also been promoting his film’s soundtrack (with a little help from an ex-Beatle). Now the Foo Fighters frontman (and Nirvana drummer) can add a Soundgarden music video to his resume.

Soundgarden revealed yesterday that they were filming a new music video for the song “By Crooked Steps” with Grohl directing. The reunited grunge group posted candid on-set photos from the shooting via Instagram, including the one seen above. Though the video’s plot hasn’t been made publicly known, the photos indicate there’s some sort of biker-gang theme occurring in the video.

It’s unknown as to how soon we’ll get to see the video for “By Crooked Steps.” Either way, though, it’s just cool to know that Grohl and Soundgarden are collaborating in some fashion.

Barack Obama is Time magazine’s Person of the Year for 2012.

The president, featured in profile on the cover of the silver-bordered issue, was chosen a second time around (he previously received the title in ’08) for “finding and forging a new majority, for turning weakness into opportunity and for seeking, amid great adversity, to create a more perfect union,” says Time editorRick Stengel.

“Obama is the first Democratic President since FDR to win more than 50 percent of the vote in consecutive elections and the first President since 1940 to win re-election with an unemployment rate north of 7.5 percent,” Stengel noted in a statement. “He has stitched together a winning coalition and perhaps a governing one as well. His presidency spells the end of the Reagan realignment that had defined American politics for 30 years. We are in the midst of historic cultural and demographic changes, and Obama is both the symbol and in some ways the architect of this new America.”

EXCLUSIVE: 4 Hollywood Donors on Obama Shortlist for Ambassador Jobs

This year’s Person of the Year runners-up are: Pakistani activist Malala Yousafzai (No. 2); Apple CEO Tim Cook (No. 3); Egypt president Mohamed Morsi (No. 4); and Italian particle physicist Fabiola Gianotti at No. 5. They’re each featured on four additional covers inside the magazine.

Obama, meanwhile, has given an interview to Time, which also published new White House photos including one of the president working on his Dec. 16 Newtown speech while attending daughterSasha‘s ballet rehearsal.

“2012 may have been more satisfying a win than 2008…. I think it was easy to think that maybe 2008 was the anomaly, and I think 2012 was an indication that, no, this is not an anomaly,” Obama said. “We’ve gone through a very difficult time. The American people have rightly been frustrated at the pace of change, and the economy is still struggling, and this President we elected is imperfect, and yet, despite all that, this is who we want to be. That’s a good thing.”

Cassadee Pope and Avril Lavigne: “I’m with You” – The Voice

The Voice‘ Recap: Season 3 Winner Is Crowned

The star-studded finale live show featured performances by Rihanna, Kelly Clarkson, Bruno Mars and the coaches.

__The-Voice-Season-3-Finale-Results

It’s been a long journey for the three finalists of The Voice.  Pop-rocker Cassadee Pope, soul singer Nicholas Davidand Scottish rocker Terry McDermott have made it through the blind auditions, the battle rounds, the knockout rounds and the live shows. They’ve fought against insecurity, bonded with their coaches, got emotional onstage and sang their hearts out in hopes of becoming a champion. They’ve laughed, they’ve cried and they’ve sung with some of their idols.

And on Tuesday, a season three winner was crowned.

The two-hour live finale featured a slew of performances leading up to the big announcement.

And the season three winner is: Cassadee Pope.

Second place went to Terry McDermott and third place went to Nicholas David.

Pope, coached by Blake Shelton, has been a strong contender for a majority of the season, especially after she performed an emotional rendition of Miranda Lambert’s “Over You,” which became a hit on the iTunes chart.

STORY: ‘The Voice’ Recap: The Final Three Perform

A big highlight of the live show was a final performance by all of the coaches. WithChristina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green leaving their coaches’ chairs for season four, it was great to see all four coaches hit the stage one for time to sing Green Day’s “Time of Your Life.”

The show also included performances by some of music’s biggest stars. Rihanna opened the show with a performance of her hit “Diamonds.” Also, American Idol grad Kelly Clarkson sang “Catch My Breath” off her greatest hits album with the help of Pope and McDermott. Bruno Mars debuted his song “When I Was Your Man” and The Killers performed “Runaways” with Pope.

All three of the finalists got to sing duets with some major music stars. David joinedSmokey Robinson, McDermott performed with Peter Frampton and Pope got to perform with her music icon, Avril Lavigne.

Additionally, some of the former season three contestants returned to perform on theVoice stage once again. Supergroups were formed, themed with “the heartbreakers” and “the power ladies.” A special highlight for us was when David brought back fan favoritesTrevin Hunte, Dez Duron and Amanda Brown for a performance of “End of the Road.” That’s a group of people who left the show too soon and it’s great that fans got to see them perform once more.

But even the finalists who didn’t walk away with the title were winners on Tuesday. In a strange Price is Right moment, the three remaining contestants were presented with new cars from “Saint Cee Lo.”

What did you think of the results of Tuesday’s show? Was the right person chosen as the winner? Sound off in the comments section below.

TOP 10 MOST VIEWED YOUTUBE VIDEO IN INDONESIA

1. PSY – GANGNAM STYLE (강남스타일) M/V

I haven’t got the exact number how many really have watched this video here in Indonesia. Bu do we really need it? He’s been all over the place. Around the world. Did the Gangnam Style with Britney and Ellen (Simon Cowell just stood and watched. I knew  he wanted to). Collab with MC Hammer at AMA. Even met The U.N Secretary General (I smell nepotism here). I’m not that surprised if he is voted as Time Person of The Year.

2. Armada – Hargai Aku (more than 9.6 million viewers)

This is a surprise for me. But after i watched the video 27 times (maybe more) now i’m not that surprised anymore. They deserve it. They got all the formulas to be runner up this year. Good song. Easy listening. Soothing voice. Good music video. Suit with their touchy lyrics. Unrequited love. We all love those kind of song. C’mon admit it. Remember Adele?

3. NOAH – SEPARUH AKU (more than 8.3 million viewers)

Their name used to be Peterpan Band. One of the greatest bands in Indonesia for the past five years. This was the most anticipated song of the year in Indonesia. Ariel, the singer, singer-writer and frontman of the band just got released from prison for violating the pornography law. He was the sex idol Indonesia. I think he still is. Not long after that they released this video and boom. They have regained their position one more time.

4. Last Child ft. Giselle – Seluruh Nafas Ini (more than 4.5million viewers)

Formed in 2007. This is their third album. But their first studio album that seriously done. Remastered by Jemi Sitanayah, a Master in Music (Soundengineering) from Berklee College of MusicUSA. This song featuring Giselle, the finalist of Indonesian Idol. She was very well known here Indonesia. Appears almost everyday on local television. Oriental look girl. Boys these days love that kind of look. Look at SNSD and other girlband from Korea and Japan.

5. The Secret State Music – The Biggest Mistake – Official Video

Man, i just heard this band. Where the fuck have i been? Mars? Was i in the wrong direction? After a few of their members served their country, The Secret State has arrived, with their unique electronic tinged sound, to serve their fans. For more info check their website: http://www.thesecretstatemusic.com

6. Trio Macan – Iwak Peyek (more than 3 million viewers)

Trio Macan means Three Lions. No they’re not from England. It’s a group-vocal (or girlband?) Trio Macan are Lia LadystaIva Novanda, dan Dian Aditya. They’re from East Java. Their name skied up high when they released a song called SMS. They’re dyed their hair into blondes. They’re also well known for their energetic stage act and show their sensuality to the audiences. Just like Lady Gaga.

7. Zivilia – Aishiteru 2 (more than 2.6 million viewers)

Their debut album. Zivilia comes from two words “Zif” and “Philia”.  The frontman Zulkifli or you can call him Zul formed the band as soon as he arrived in Indonesia after he got home after quite awhile stay in Japan. Ha! Now we know why the title is Aishiteru.

8. PSY (ft. HYUNA) 오빤 딱 내 스타일

Do you still need an explanation?

9. BIGBANG – FANTASTIC BABY M/V

Korean Pop (boyband and girlband) is a big hits in Indonesia. And i think it rules all over the world this year. Everytime they have a show in Indonesia you have to buy the tickets fast. Mostly their tickets were sold out within days.

10.  COBALAH MENGERTI – Ariel, Uki, Lukman, Reza, David Feat.Momo G (more than 1.8 mio)

This is the embryo of NOAH Band (look at number 3). They have to change their name because they had feud with their past members of Peterband. Because the Peterpan name came from Andhika, Peterpan’s keyboardist who left the band with Reza (bassist) and formed another band called The Titans.

Bruno Mars Performs ‘Count on Me‘ in Tribute to Newtown Victims

“I think we can all agree right now we need a lot of love out there,” said Ellen DeGeneres as she introduced Bruno Mars at the top of her show today. The singer-songwriter opened Ellen with a heartfelt, ukulele-driven version of the stirring Doo-Wops & Hooligans track “Count on Me” as a tribute to the victims of tragic shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, this past Friday.

Singer-songwriter stopped by ‘Ellen’ with his ukulele for a touching moment. See it here.
